Do i need to patch fallout 3 before i put mods on it?

i really want this mod for fallout 3 but im paranoid it will break when i patch it because stalker(shadow of chernobyl AND clear sky) keep breaking whenever i patch itDo i need to patch fallout 3 before i put mods on it?

Some mods do need you to patch it. Fallout 3 is more stable in terms of patches so it should be fine.
