What would cause a square patch of hair to fallout?

I recently had nasal surgery, and one month after a patch about the size of 2x3 inch.



I have asked the surgeons, but they won't take it serious. I don't know what to do.



The hair won't grow back, and it look like someone ran clippers on my head.What would cause a square patch of hair to fallout?
